DR. RICHARD CROWELL, M.S., D.V.M.
Dr. Richard Crowell was born in Boston and grew up in Needham, MA graduating from Needham High School in 1977. He graduated from Fairfield University with a major in Biology in 1981 and then graduated from Boston College with a Master’s degree in Biology in 1985. Dr. Crowell received his DVM degree in 1990 from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Crowell owned the Franklin Veterinary Clinic in Franklin, MA for 10 years. He has worked at the Tufts Emergency Treatment Center in Walpole and the Legion Animal Hospital in Holliston. He started the Medfield Veterinary Clinic in December of 2002.
Dr. Crowell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Crowell lives in Medfield with his wife, Deirdre. They have four children along with a golden retriever.
DR. SANDY HIGGINS, D.V.M.
Dr. Sandy Higgins has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine since 1992. She graduated Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1986. After working in a research lab at Children’s Hospital for two years, she earned her DVM degree at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, MA., graduating Cum Laude in 1992. She was also a member of the Phi Zeta Honors Society. After veterinary school, Dr. Higgins completed a 13 month small animal internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. She has been a general practitioner in the local Boston area ever since! In her spare time, Sandy enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Daniel and Michael. Her hobbies include ice skating, cooking and gardening. She has two golden retrievers, Reggie and Tessie, and a cat named Dusty.
DR. JESSIE HOPKINS, D.V.M.
Dr. Jessie Hopkins grew up in Needham, MA and graduated from Needham High School in 1998. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in biology in 2002 and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Hopkins recently moved back to Massachusetts after working in Atlanta for the past 7 years. She lives in Medfield with her family and their pets.
DR. MARIE PETROPOULOS, D.V.M.
The Medfield Veterinary Clinic and Westwood Veterinary Care are excited to welcome Dr Marie Petropoulos. Marie grew up locally in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She recieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of New Hampshire. She graduated with honors and was a Presidential Scholar. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. She currently still resides in Stoughton with her family and two cats, Cloud and Storm. She is looking forward to working with you to help your furry family members. You may schedule an appointment with her at both the Medfield and Westwood offices.
